Walking the Hawthornevale Path in Edinburgh, I feel its connection to the upcoming spring cleanse. The Hawthorn has been a key thread in my Shamanic journey, from my training in Balerno, "Place of the Hawthorn," to a bee carrying heart medicine to me. Now, as I explore this path with a fellow teacher, I see how these medicines weave into my work.

So I was reflecting on how Fire influences Water and that relationship is so multifaceted … but it was Rainbow that really spoke to me … I then went on to have the most magical experience with the Seals and a Rainbow !

Today I found a Datura beginning to flower out of the ashes ... I have never seen one here before in the North of Scotland!

The Wolf Mother called this time and place the Ice Nations and I feel it was part of the Hyperborean lineage. She also spoke how they were also holders of remnants of the White Flame, Fire and Rose lineages which, at that time, no longer existed in their entirety. It felt like a struggle to maintain what they could.

I was winded and cracked several ribs both sides from the impact. And yet it felt like a stern, loving grandmother telling me to ‘ get back in yourself child’ ! It was no doubt a final part of an initiation I had been experiencing since the Spring Equinox

In laying to rest what of the past no longer serves us we can start to clarify the wisdom that it contains. It will be hidden until we do … new beginnings always grow in the rich compost of the old. The ancient that held us and protects us until we are ready to make our own choices and discernment and we may carry through a few golden threads that are purified in this alchemical process, to be woven in a new way … as we prepare to embrace our renewal and rebirth and step into the unknown.

What had been coming up for all of us really strongly was our Voice - how much it had been suppressed and conditioned into silence, keeping the status quo, being nice … and for how long … way back into the ancestry of both our genetic and spiritual lineages.
