Run Wild …
Grandmother Willow Dawn
And a New Name: The School of Earth
Earlier this month this name came through as the one to replace The Willow Branch. I was told this would happen, by the crofts Willow tree that is rooted in her heart, 2 years ago when I was preparing for a solstice retreat - The Way of the Willow. What I didn’t know was the actually name or form … so I added ‘a croft under transition’ to her name.
I have had this land for over 15 years now and she and her Facebook page depicts a journey of a shifting dream, which I have no desire to hide.
Though to start School of Earth will be an on-line space, offering my evolving shamanic teachings and workshops, I know we will land. And that may not be on the land where we started, but this croft and the Grandmother Willow have been formative guides.
Last April as I was moving the limb she lost in the storms, she rocked back and hit me square in the sternum right on my assemblage, or zero, point. I was winded and cracked several ribs both sides from the impact. And yet it felt like a stern, loving grandmother telling me to ‘ get back in yourself child’ ! It was no doubt a final part of an initiation I had been experiencing since the Spring Equinox - After the Storm. This limb is now what I am calling the Initiation Bench !
Last week when I was talking with her she told me to just let go and let the land run wild and find it’s own form. Then yesterday as I was looking over the rather waterlogged ( there’s a long story here!) meadow I saw at least 20 young Willows popping out from the long grass - and to think I though I needed to plant trees !
with much Love
