Deep restorative rest
I remember reading somewhere years ago that you teach what you need to know - well this sentiment is very true of todays meditation.
I wrote a poem ( I've included this after the meditation video) about my move and some of the things I saw in the garden, including these two sleepy lizards cuddled up under a stone. I was so inspired by them and the clear message to rest, at a time when I was so busy.
Though I discovered a lovely restorative yoga video called 'yoga nap' - it was only 20 minutes and was absolutely perfect for supporting me through, what felt like full on days of packing and moving things.
I knew this was to be a starting point for our next meditation and it's been urging me to bring it through for a few days now ... and so this beautiful rest of a meditation followed a format that I'm more used to from the days when I was facilitating deep relaxations as part of a Buddhist practice.
Get really snug and cosy for this meditation. Either in your bed and wrapped up with a duvet, or in a blanket on your sofa. You may want to move and stretch at times, so be somewhere you can do this easily.
Enjoy !
Moving
Sleepy Lizards
snuggle Warmly
beneath
Western rocks
Blink their eyes
momentarily
Dazzled
out of dreaming
We are the Daughters of the Sun
The Deer skulls will stay
In the Northern corner
where Buddha fell over
under the Elder
Ivy covered,
cushioned with
Moss.
Guardians
until the end …
Sun Streams tho’
The smiling Sky …
and when the Lizards wake
The world
will be a different place
The year of the Dove is over.
The Crows have returned …
for final Divine
Retribution
Justice hangs in the balance
We are moving
Realities
drawing the Future
towards us
In the past
Converging
skip
so as to not
trip
over
Time
the Ancestors are here
Observe
the Returning …
They are here
Now.
With much Love
from my Heart to yours,
