Waiting for a Safe Haven

A meditation exploring the Rose lineage, delving into ancestral memory and ancient wisdom. Safety, both personal and communal, allows memories to bloom like a rose, revealing layers of history and resilience. With the support of eldership, our own or others, we can allow these to flow without attachment. They are not only deeply healing, but they also reveal a deep, ancient wisdom waiting to return.

Yesterday morning I was called to record a meditation exploring the Rose lineage, for The Chronicles’ group. This is curious as I haven’t been called to so directly explore something historical like this before.

Hints of the journeys of the Rose lineage keep popping up for me in my travels around the Forth River, as I witness the layers of varying forms of persecution and slavery. I have ancestors who lived here, my paternal lineage moved from the Northern Realms to the Highlands and then further South over many generations. So it’s no accident this part of Scotland has been calling me.

What I was shown in the meditation was when we reach safety, the memories can start to return in their fullness like a blooming of a rose. This safety isn’t just about our personal safety, it is also about the safety of our times. The safety of having a supportive community that provides nourishment, acceptance and knowing. These memories have been stored within us like tight rose buds waiting for the right time, place and people.

It may be disconcerting when on reaching safety, memories start to emerge. And though here I talk about memories of the ancestors, the land, and from other lives - it is also true of current life experiences. With the support of eldership, our own or others, we can allow these to flow without attachment. They are not only deeply healing, but they also reveal a deep, ancient wisdom waiting to return.

This brings greater depth of meaning to the Blooming of a Rose and much reflection.

I hope you find the meditation restorative and healing

From my Heart to yours,
