Loch Droma

When Loch Droma first stretched herself out in front of me over 26 years ago I knew I had come home. Months later she was again.

Though I live an hours drive from here, when I reach this place I know I am home. For me this is the true gateway to the Scottish Highlands.

My Heart home.

I became so deeply rooted, that for many years I didn’t travel far.

Spiritual enquiry found that I had multiple lives here and a paternal ancestry dispossessed 17 generations earlier.

Promises were made to return.

Promises became contracts concentrated in my cells, radiating through my blood. As I unravelled these attachments and start travelling again I still have a commitment to this land. I belong. I am still comprehending all, that belonging to this land so deeply, has taught me. Yet there is a freedom in that now, one which means that I can belong anywhere, for the land is within me. Embedded in my bones.

And this is my gateway home.
