Goldcrest: Carrier of the Sovereign Crown

A few days ago a tiny bird caught my attention through the window, as he pecked through the winter undergrowth. Initially through my peripheral vision I thought he was a Wren … and as I turned for a closer look I saw a bright yellow stripe on his head … he was a Goldcrest!

I haven’t noticed a lone Goldcrest before, I see and hear them flying in joyful formation through the treetops in woodlands before gathering in a tree or two chattering to each other.

They are such sociable birds, I knew that seeing this lone bird was significant.

There is much similarity between Wren and Goldcrest within the Celtic mythologies. Both are credited with jumping on the back of the Eagle to win the competition of the bird who could fly the highest. And for me their individual medicine gifts feel aligned and compatible …

and yet Goldcrest has received the crown, embodying the light.

Wren is skilled at finding the pathways through the tangle of density and confusion towards the light, often alone, and when paired they display a beautiful dance of masculine and feminine energies. Goldcrest uses his skills to navigate through the treetops of the forests in harmonious community.

This level of harmony requires each individual embodying their sovereign self.

So Goldcrest returning to the ground showed me, that once we’ve completed the path of the Wren, we move into that of being anchored in our autonomy, we start to fly higher and find our flock to fly with.

I channeled a Shamanic Journey with Goldcrest to explore this journey more deeply, which is available on Youtube.

with much Love,
