Gatekeeping

Alchemising blocks, Respecting Bridges.

In the current Cauldron Intensive Pilgrimage, a Gatekeeper was introduced as we moved from the Above into the Below - from the Masculine energy into the Feminine - the Light into the Dark. Initially it surprised, though maybe it shouldn’t have done … in Sweatlodges, more correctly Purification Ceremonies, as the stones - the fire burst - representing the movement of the masculine impetus, are carried to the lodge … permission is first asked for from Grandmother while standing at the sacred threshold.

And so Gatekeeping is a natural phenomenon born out of respect and honour for purity and sacredness. We ask permission, without expectation that in the asking it will be given. This is the pause, the still point between - the potent creational moment. The knowing of both sacred and natural laws, how they interact and influence each other and therefore the consequences of over-riding this.

In our times of trauma, societal conditioning, apathy, lack of boundaries, self-respect etc. that has been facilitated by those in ‘power’ ( or so it would seem) - Gatekeepers have become distorted, internalised blockages between us and what we’re trying to bring into being. What we desire to create, what we believe that we here for and being called to do …

… and yet we encounter a quagmire of entanglements from all times and places of our ancestral and soul inherited trauma going back millennia … when we perceive time linearly.

Often, in what may be labelled as ‘projection’, externalised Gatekeepers are part of internal processes of qualities that are fearful or negated for a wide variety of reasons, maybe because they’ve been encountered in the family system and are part of an ancestral dynamic. Energy is essentially neutral, though experienced in a dualistic manner. For example that strong rooted present nature can be experienced in a negative form as a stubborness born from a high alert survival mode. Or a gentle, yet persistent patience enabling the ability to wait for the right time, the right season, becomes turning the other cheek when taking a stand could be more productive. Either side can be viewed as overbearing, weak, wrong, right etc, and many other perspectives - a holding on to the point of self destructiveness, inability to let go or move … but the core energy remains no matter how it may have been distorted, corrupted and diverted away from it’s purity - persistence in adversity. When we can distill that energy to its purest form, the essence, is when we hit the gold and can counter obstruction from these gatekeepers with a calm, peaceful manner and come from this place … and that changes everything … not only that - it alchemises the generations of ancestral wounding that created this dynamic as it dissolves, starting the healing process of the unravelling.

The curiousity to me was as to why the Gatekeeper stood between the Masculine and Feminine … ? What within us, within our inner masculine dynamic needs to be recognised before we can fully encounter our feminine? When we reach the entanglement where the distorted masculine energy we first encountered through our mother, starts to be looked at and unravelled, we have reached a significant part, a pivotal point of our journey.

Staying with and breathing through this complexity, where the clear, pure distinction between the masculine and feminine energies was first lost in our ancestral history - this inner work is not only for us, our families, but for the collective. There can be a delicate dance of going to and fro, from one to the other, unravelling this final deeply enmeshed knot - and in seeing and witnessing this entwining - in the separation we begin the reweaving.

And it is rewarding. For it is completing this inner work that leads into the Sacred Inner Divine Union, Heiros Gamos, that so many desire on their spiritual path. And yet, it is not a destination, it is just the beginning of sourcing life from a purity free of conventional, societally conditioned, gender dynamics.

This is coming into Eldership. The Gatekeeper protects this space inbetween. Have you developed the maturity to be here and take on the responsibility and accountability for your creational impulses and desires ? Do you even know what they are ? Where is your integrity ? What is still hidden from you? Have you the capacity to draw on the protection of your inner masculine and Gatekeeper yourself from yourself ? Or does a strong impulse still tumble out of you unchecked?

These are not meant to be shaming tactics. They are statements of power. Knowledge of the power of intent. And we are all on this journey of learning how to step into our power, as we recall our wisdom through that evolution. So many of us have experienced extreme disempowerment in this life - for the very purpose of deeply knowing all that power is, and is not.

Our journey’s teach us discernment, authenticity, integrity … and as we progress the tests become more and more subtle … as we walk from hunter/tracker honing our intuition, knowing, wisdom becoming warrior, shaman, alchemists.

We may encounter different levels of Gatekeeper as we are allowed more access to these deeper sacred realms of our original mothers womb space.

As Elder we become Gatekeeper. We know how to use both energies harmoniously and with respect - not blending thmn into a homogenous whole. They work in unison, while remaining distinct. The penetrative ability of protection and the deeply receptive creational power.

For it is in this soft vulnerable fertility that the true power is held - the Grail - creational freedom.
