Cave Systems: An Energetic Perspective

An open letter to my local community:

Over the weekend someone locally highlighted ‘rubbish’ being left in a cave here.

This upset some spiritual practitioners, pagan as their spokesperson called them, who spoke about the heritage of this cave including the connection to their ancestors.

I have visited and used this cave regularly in the 29 plus years I have lived here and the energy has always been pristine. It is only over the past 3 or 4 years that these items have been left. Last time I was there with a visiting friend there was glitter strewn over the cave floor and the energy, which had been declining, felt stagnant - we didn’t go in, though I knew I was being asked to do something about it. The glitter was really the last straw for me, though I didn’t clear the energy like I had done in the past - I waited.

And this is how the ancestors work - they are in spirit so they have a different perspective. They care, but neither do they want a potential desecration of what they hold dear and is said to be dedicated to them. So they will work through those who will trigger you enough to look at yourselves and the parts of you that are not in authentic alignment. To your true intention, which they can see - even if you can’t yet. 

There is a complex entanglement of conditioning, values and belief systems that your ancestral lineages are calling to you to heal. This is your work if you truly wish to honour your ancestors, rather than participate in that which could degrade into spiritual theatre and accusing others of not understanding.

Now I wish to talk about the bigger picture, the context that this one cave finds herself in within the many. 

I like to say that Mother Earth is our Ultimate Ancestor. I believe our ancestors are not only those of our blood lineages who have passed on, they are of every being that has ever been present here on Earth … and so much more.

All caves are intimately and energetically connected through the body of Mother Earth. Some are more potent energetically than others and are connected to the Feminine Wisdom lineages such as that of Mary Magdalene, The Morrighan, The Cailleach … these are our spiritual ancestors. 

So everything that is done in that cave, has the potential to energetically feedback into the greater system and the ancestral lineages - this movement is not linear. Everything is interconnected and so when doing energetic work we have a responsibility for the whole and a willingness to be held accountable. This is how you honour your Ancestors. 

For those who don’t know me or haven’t connected with my work, I am a shamanic medicine woman. I have travelled extensively working energetically with Mother Earth as we start to anchor in new energetic structures. Much of this work has been about ‘clearing up others energetic messes’ as my guides call it - before this can be done. I haven’t shared much about this work, some is in my blog and my current courses are based on what I have learned through what has unfolded.
